The Barstow Bat
The main drive section delivers intense saturation and signature RAT-style distortion with twice the volume output. This allows for further overdriving your favorite amp or pedal or can be used as a unique boost effect by reducing the drive for a dirty boost.
The custom-designed active EQ section provides a wide range of highly usable tones, regardless of knob settings. With all controls at noon, it delivers the classic stock RAT tone. Adjusting the EQ allows for subtle or dramatic shifts, from scooped mids and filtered treble to booming bass and added harmonic color.
The Barstow Bat features two default clipping options that significantly alter its tone and distortion characteristics. With the button in the out position, a pair of silicon diodes provide maximum distortion and saturation, ideal for a full-tilt standalone distortion effect. Engaging Turbo mode (inspired by the Turbo RAT) activates a pair of LED diodes that clip less, enhancing midrange and overall gain—perfect for pushing a preamp, pedal, or amplifier into a scorching boost.
