StageBug SB-2
Compact Passive DI
Passive Direct Box
The StageBug SB-2 is a compact passive direct box designed for active basses and keyboards. Its compact size allows it to fit inside an instrument case and it includes a stereo to mono mix function to help save mixer channels.
Features
Passive DI for bass acoustic and keyboard
Ultra compact design
Plug and play operation
Transformer isolation eliminates noise
Small Size And Big Performance
The SB-2 features a 1/4 inch input and thru output for feeding an on stage amplifier. A custom Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer performs impedance matching and signal balancing.
A -15 dB pad can be engaged for high output instruments such as active basses and digital pianos.
The stereo to mono merge function allows stereo keyboards and computers to be connected without changing source settings while reducing the number of mixer channels required.
The XLR output follows the AES standard with pin 2 hot.
The Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer handles high signal levels while providing natural compression and transformer isolation to reduce hum and buzz caused by ground loops.
A ground lift switch disconnects pin 1 on the XLR output for additional noise reduction.
Applications
Using The SB-2 With Acoustic Guitar
Connect an acoustic guitar to the SB-2 to smooth signal peaks and provide a warmer tone. Its compact design is well suited for travel and live performance.
Using The SB-2 With Electric Bass
Connect the bass to the input send the thru output to an amplifier and the XLR output to the PA system. Transformer isolation helps eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops.
Using The SB-2 With A Keyboard
The SB-2 can connect a keyboard directly to a PA system. The input and thru jacks automatically merge stereo signals to mono while balancing the signal for cable runs up to 100 meters 300 feet with low noise.
