The PowerStage 200 is a compact 200-watt pedal-sized guitar amp designed for players looking for a powerful grab-and-go pedal amp for any gig rehearsal or studio session. The PS200 was created specifically for players who get their tone from modeling devices stompboxes or a combination of the two. Like the PowerStage 170 and 700 the PowerStage 200 retains the hallmark characteristics of the PowerStage family providing a platform that brings out the best qualities of your tone. Compact clean organic and reliable power sits at the core of PowerStage family and the PS200 delivers on that promise. Loud enough to match your drummer and fill a venue of just about any size the PowerStage 200 provides clean reliable amplification and tons of headroom to let your pedals or modeler shine.

Like the PS170 the PS200 is voiced specifically for guitar so players can mount it directly on their pedalboard or easily carry it in their gig bag. It is about the width of two standard pedals placed side-by-side. A tube amp with similar power would require its own flight case and a second trip to the van. The PS200’s size also makes travel easy and cost-effective saving on cartage fees.

A clean headroom amp is the best choice if you want to get the most from your pedals and modeling gear. Many tube amps break up too early making it challenging to dial in a pristine clean platform for your pedals especially at higher volumes. If you use modelers like a Kemper Helix or Axe FX unwanted distortion can ruin carefully crafted patches. The PowerStage 200 addresses these issues by providing 200 watts of crystal-clear power. But do not be misled crystal-clear power does not mean sterile or flat in depth. The PS200 has a warmth and smoothness giving it all the depth and organic feel of a high-quality tube amp.

Another challenge with tube amps is that they often have a certain sweet spot achieved only at higher volumes. The PS200 maintains rich tone throughout the volume range. Whether practicing quietly or rocking a full arena your tone stays consistent without losing depth or warmth. Think of the PS200 as having one broad sweet spot.

The PS200 has two 1/4 inch speaker outputs so you can run multiple cabinets. Impedance matching is handled internally, so you do not need to worry about speaker impedance—just plug in and play.

The PS200 is slightly more powerful than the PS170 and includes additional features. After listening to customers and consulting with top players in the industry we narrowed down a feature set that is simple yet flexible. Many guitarists play in unpredictable venues so we included a cab sim 4x12 closed-back with a DI XLR output jack. This lets you send your tone to the front of house or a monitoring system without mic bleed or noise. You get pure tone in any setting.

Independent bypass switches for both cab sim and EQ offer flexibility for silent recording. When you bypass the cab sim you can use your own cab sim or IR device expanding your range of cab tones. When you bypass the EQ section you can let your modeler or EQ shaping tool handle the tonal adjustments.

For added high-end sparkle the presence control gives you four bands of EQ. The presence knob can also tame any harsh digital artifacts from some modelers.

Aux In allows you to jam along with drum grooves backing tracks or music while practicing at home or on the road. Just plug in your music player or computer and practice silently with speaker-emulated tone. Aux In is also helpful during rehearsals when you need to review or practice without disturbing others. The 1/8 inch headphone jack has its own volume control on the top of the amp.
