Pearly Gates Humbucker Pickups
Transform your Les Paul-style guitar into a classic rock outlaw with our country-fried Pearly Gates humbucker pickups. Modeled after Billy Gibbons’ 1959 Les Paul, the Pearly Gates neck pickup captures all the unique mojo of the original P.A.F., offering a distinct tonal variation with more midrange than typical humbuckers from that era. This results in a neck pickup with strong, tailored mids, while still maintaining the open, airy treble attack provided by the alnico 2 bar magnet. The warm, spongy low-end makes it ideal for both rhythm and lead playing.
Neck Pickup Features:
- Enhanced midrange for better cut-through
- Alnico 2 bar magnet for open, airy treble response
- Warm, spongy low-end
- Great for rhythm and lead tones
Bridge Pickup Features:
Seymour Duncan discovered that Billy’s original bridge pickup had slightly more output than most P.A.F.s, giving it the extra drive that makes this pickup so special. The alnico 2 bar magnet ensures the high end remains airy but focused, while the midrange emphasis delivers a unique Texas sizzle. With its distinct growl, this pickup brings any humbucker-equipped instrument to life.
- More output than standard P.A.F.s
- Alnico 2 bar magnet for airy yet focused highs
- Midrange emphasis for a Texas-style sizzle
- Adds growl and character to any guitar
Hand-Built Craftsmanship:
Each Pearly Gates humbucker is hand-built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory using an alnico 2 bar magnet, a nickel silver bottom plate, and 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options. They are vacuum wax-potted for squeal-free performance. Available in both standard humbucker and Trembucker spacing, every Pearly Gates is wound on Seymour’s original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for authentic vintage mojo.
